I had wanted to fish it once, but the questionables hanging out in the parking lot drove me away. Plus that lake has some serious contamination.

It was one of the first lakes in the area with a consumption ban from PCB's (which, BTW come from legacy fertilizer and similar pollutants, and not from the old naval base).

It is a decent place to fish, and has very little pressure.

The worst part is I know no way I'd launch a boat without having someone drop me off and drive the truck/trailer somewhere else while I was fishing.

It is very shallow, and quite full of vegetation. It ranges from 2 ft deep over a good portion of the lake, slowly getting up to 10 ft or so near the dam, topping out at 15-20 at the dam itself.

Hot water lake, so in the summer it is not a real comfortable place to sit either.

Hit the old runway, dam, and weeds on the west side for largemouth, the bridge for crappie, and the entire south end for cats.

The dam holds some whites, drum, buffalo, and crappie.

Thanks I read about the contamination issues myself. I was just checking it out to see if It would be a good place to have club tournament. We are fishing Lake arlington at the end of the month. If you have any info on that lake I would appreciate it. Never been there.

I have only been on it once with a guy from work. I had a 3# and he had a 5#. I haven't been on it in a while. There is a weeknight tourny on Tuesday I think. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Its a pretty nice lake. There are a few coves and lots of grass. A few boat docks. There is a fee to launch. I want to say it is like $5 or so, cant remember. You may repost this about Arlington and may get more help.
