Surprised it hasn't been brought up yet. New series with big payouts and true championship for top 75 in points.

Interesting. Seemed like a great turnout for his benefit tournament earlier this year

I fished the benefit one and it was well run, even for the weather conditions that were thrown at them.

Throw in incentives and the ROI crushes NPFL and the Opens.

The Texas tournament directors memorial cemetery is littered with TD’s who’ve tried to build a high end team series here. I literally can’t think of anything harder.

Rule #1 in the derby business, never listen to the anglers when you’re starting a trail. roflmao I’m sure they’ll get lots of definite maybes for this one.

I do wish them luck, that’s a heck of a payout.

Wish them luck...
IMO there are too many now--- especially in some parts of the state where the choice of decent lakes is limited.

I think the problem with some of the high priced trail deal is the deep east texas focus. Entry fees are no big deal, the time and expensive of travel and practice time to feel like you even have a shot at being competitive rule out alot of guys from wanting to go to that pine tree infested hell hole and give locals money..... especially when they are spending nothing for travel and sleeping in their own bed. The locals down there are basically paying entry fee and a little gas. The dfw and west guys are paying multiple tanks of gas, multiple nights in hotels, multiple nights away from home and still have very limited chance at being competitive. At the end of the day a dfw guy is really just contributing to the mobile home sales fund in jasper.

Add to that, the east texas guys wont travel to keep the trail full of boats either. They can cherry pick rayburn events and stay busy.
