Didn't even realize there was a Bassmaster Elite and MLF championship going on today, seems like they used to promote these live more, has the novelty worn off?

I’ve been a fan of watching bass fishing. However when the tournaments are dominated by ffs, it’s pretty boring to watch. Even though most would say it’s boring to watch anyway. I’m a nerd, i know.

Where did you see all the prior promotions about the events? Probably on fishing related websites etc? None of tvat has changed. For tge most part you have always had to put in a little effort to follow abd keep up with the different pro trails. It's not much different today. If anything the viewership has grown since its so easy to watch now at your fingertips or on demand.
If anything I think the live coverage has helped in a big way. We probably are never gonna see 2 mi he's of fishing highlights on Sportscenter or the local news. Occasionally an event is shown on a non outdoor channel but that's rare. These days is a good time to follow pro fishing if it's your deal.
I get emails from BASS and MLF days before an event starts or is televised reminding me it's coming up.

Also, when the events are at lakes that most people follow or have aura there's more chatter about it. These last 2 are late in the season, many awards are locked down by now and their fishing Northern lakes.

Other sites with members in that area a buzzing, but on here we could care less about drop shot fest. yes

I am sure smallmouth fishing is a blast but it isn't fun to watch for me.

Northern smallmouth fisheries are tough to fade. The organizations are behind bringing this style of fishing to the viewers. As viewers we should be seeing a split screen when watching. Half of our viewing screen should show the anglers FF sonar, the other half the angler. I learn very little watching a guy view a screen. Some people watch professional gaming, imagine just watching the back of a guys head playing a video game. Kind of what we are doing on these events. Unwatchable for me, and I watch it all.

I don't all ways watch them but when I do, I usually follow them on the interweb via Apps or something like that. I record them on for TV but that is usually not live and mostly rerruns.
