Agree, not many would want to participate in tournaments competing for 14-16 inch fish.

Interpretations of the rules conclude that even taking a picture of a bass 16-24 inches on a measuring board then releasing is temporary possession, so that would also discourage catch, photo, and release tournaments.

I offer fork as a counter to this...... people flock to tourneys out there to fish for rats, yes I know you get an over but it's mostly rat chasing

You can catch a weigh an over at Fork.

It doesn't appear that is legal, only sharelunker fish are legal.

Yes, I believe that is clarified on the Local Fishing Regulations page for Bois d Arc (it's worded more clearly there)
That page also suggests that there's no minimum length limit for LMB, but they continue to recognize the 14 inch minimum for small mouth (which are probably already in there from Texoma/Red River.)

So for large mouth bass, you'd be competing for 0-16 inch LMB and for 14-16 inch small mouth bass.

Thats the way i understood it. Sounds like a good deal if they want to make it a big bass lake. No problem with it for me

Good, keeps it from getting beat to death somewhat. We used to do paper tournaments on Nacogdoches because of the limits

Well that deals a blow to the, "I'm just putting this slot fish in my livewell so that I can get my camera and scales out to get pictures/measurements," argument we hear from time to time on Fork
