I come across this via social media earlier today. I really don’t have an opinion one way or the other but this could shake things up a bit if it actually works. https://news.brp.com/news-releases/...perience-all-new-manitou-alumacraft-and/

Horse sh………..t. If I had to guess. If it was real or game changer it would be a lot bigger deal. We would have heard it at a much higher level.

Thanks, Billy

It’s an outboard inboard/outboard. Lol. With BRP’s legendary [censored] for quality.

Amazing how they elude to the fact that it’s the I3 Etec rebadged as a Rotax, the one they released right before they shut down Evinrude

What could possibly go wrong with a motor that sits partially in the water? We all know that seals never go out and let water in, I’m sure a gasoline motor will love sucking in water. rolleyes

When I first heard about this Project Ghost it was supposed to be a venture into the electic outboard world, I guess that didn't materialize. I figure if it is Rotax powered it's probably two stroke. Evinrude 2.0. All I can say is it better be good or they will loose their rear ends on this deal. Being mounted at or near or below the water line that alone should make it a potential disaster for anybody that owns one.

Anybody that trusts that company enough to spend the kinda money this type of stuff costs deserves what they get. They make garbage. When was the last good reliable engine they they produced that people actually serviced?

Rotax is big in some applications so I would not dismiss it totally.
They are targeting pontoons and family boats for the space savings and economy.

Except it’s a Rotax in name only. It’s a rebadged 1.9L Etec G2
