Had water bills like that the year before last trying to keep my back yard green, its about a half acre. Last year we had plenty of rain but back yard was a mess due to having outdoor kitchen being built. This year I said the heck with it and got accustomed to looking at dirt.

Clearly it's not from toilet flushes.

Just let me know, I'm a great co pilot and don't need bathroom breaks.

No way I can keep my grass watered as I have (had) over 3 acres of Centipede. It was really brown last week, but we got a little bit over 2.5" in the past week and it is starting to green up.
Our bill was just over $100, keeping tomatoes and watermelons alive and the grass right around the house. Front yard gets the water from the aerobic system, will switch it back to the pasture if the rains keep coming.

Neighbor had one for over $2K. They have 12 stations on their sprinkler system, plus they just filled up
a 20' X 30' swimming pool that is 9' deep.
Funny thing is, their grass wasn't much greener than any of mine.

I quit watering the brown spots after realizing there was no relief in sight.. almost whole front yard brown except for the grass under shade tree.. Got a 2,5 inch rain early last week, then another inch in small quick downpour a few days later and so I fertilized…turned green again and I’m back to watering any brown spots again.. sure looks better green.
