i'm done with Jims, have 4 pairs in the boat - different lens colors for different light conditions, and one pair in each vehicle (3), their coating is not what it used to be, when new they are unreal, but once the coating gets a scratch or ding it really draws your eye to it, plus they got sold to a conglomerate not long ago... I bought a pair of Costa's a year ago and have been real happy with them, boating/fishing and riding my Harley and I have yet to ching the lens and minimal eye strain in the big sun...I will most assuredly sunset my Jims for Costa's...

Costa frames are hot garbage, I have multiple pairs that have been sent in for warranty and were honored and replaced by Luxotica. The frames on all those are junk again. I have switched to Maui Jim and haven't looked back. As far as the post above me for quality of lens, I have put my money where my mouth is as I know the quality of Maui Jim's lens are as good if not better than any of the [censored] that Luxotica is pumping out.

This exactly. Have had 4 pair of costas. All junk frames. Glass is heavy.
My Maui’s are way nicer.

Had costa's wiley Xs, Oakleys. and a whole bunch of other brands, I learned to save money and bought some solar bats. Just as good in my opinion.

I will agree 100 % with the MJ’s superior frames, majority of my Jim’s frames are made in Italy, I do have one pair of Jim’s that the frame is made in Japan - and it shows...all of my dings and scratches were made in America by me and warranty won’t cover them... the Costa’s I picked up are the Caballito 580P...and they are made more than adequate with an ok price for what your getting, and I’ve been harder on them them than the Jim’s and not a scratch...give Jim’s time to move their frame making to Japan or China and we’ll revisit the frame quality again... I guess we have another what’s the best baitcaster thread... LOL

Japan quality is usually pretty stellar. China not so much.

Costa for me! I am tough on them, they don't scratch easily and if the frames fail I send them in and they are replaced usually with a brand new pair of glasses.

See you on the lake and have a great day!
