Day 1. First night with the bucket trap set. Got it set out late and only used dry catfood as bait. Tonight, I will bait it better. Going to catch Mickey and all his friends As you can see, it’s a big one!

I've used the bucket traps at work, hope you have better luck.

I have a bucket trap I bought from Amazon, worked great at first but those are some very smart boogers- I did a modification that still is working after a long time in my shop that backs up the a field-
I took that lid off that they used to walk on and then fall into. I continued having a small ladder for them to walk up, I baited the ladder with a very small taste- Fill with water enough that a rat cannot stand and breath, but not too high that they are able to get back out- Put dabs of crunchy peanut butter on the rim, then I would smear peanut butter on the inside of the bucket just out of reach- They are able to eat the PB from the ladder and the rim, but when they stretch and reach for the PB on the inside walls many times they fall in and drown- This has worked longer than anything else I have tried- Good luck-

I had a bucket trap in the shed but the rats were too smart for it. I rat proofed the shed after I pulled the nest out of my mower. Momma was not happy but fortunately she went the other way.

Small floating lid with either cat/dog food on it. I’ve eliminated tons of mice.

Got it all set up for night two. I have to leave early in the morning and won’t be able to check it until late afternoon. Camera is running as well.
