I was planning on going to Lake Buchanan this weekend but read that it's 15' low, are there any ramps open? if not guess I'll go to Choke.

Definitely Buchanan... When your skin's surface starts to blister under the sun you can cool off better. flame

If you are fishing, Choke for sure. 12 foot Alligators seem to deter the jet skiers and wakeboard boaters.

Burnet County should be open as well. Just be careful out there if you aren't familiar with the lake. The channel is well marked. There are also areas with sudden depth changes. Of course, you also need to be careful at Choke.

If you are fishing alone then Llano county ramp dock is not usable so you have to beach your boat.

Choke, throw hollow body frogs up on the bank and drag it back in slowly. They were loving it last week. [Linked Image]

well we didn't catch any bass but we did catch 32 white bass and stripers so at least we got our lines tight. The whites averaged about 2 lbs and the stripers were in the 3-4 lb range. We put in at Big Chief and it was easy, just very very low... . looks like we should have gone to Choke according to Topwater 2's pic..

thanks for all the scoop.

Nope, Black Rock is on the West side of the dam, Big Chief is on the East side, it's a $15 fee to launch.
