Headed to the Seguin area tomorrow (Friday). Hopefully, I will get an opportunity to catch my first Rio. Staying at an airbnb between Seguin and Lake Cali. Geared up with light tackle and several varieties of baits. Will post some pics if I have any kind of luck.

Success...  Got him this evening,(Saturday),on a piece of bread. Was by myself and could not get a pic of me with the fish. Just over 11 inches. Small pond that folks feed the fish from the dock. I got broke off twice by unknown denizens of the deep. Awesome first Rio Curt! A 9 inch Rio is considered a trophy according to TPWD. You surpassed that length and then some with that bull Rio! Great job sir

Very nice Rio Curt Tip for getting pics when solo fishing, set phone on top of backpack, bucket or something that gets you in view of the camera, hit video button, then just take a screen shot from the video. I do this often and it works great.

Thanks guys. I was impressed with the fight that guy put up. Light tack was the answer. Gonna hit them again this evening with a better camera. My flip phone is not the best for pics.

Left South Texas this morning and am now at Lake LBJ. Apparently there is a honey hole at our friends lake house that I will be hitting. Last evening I scratched out about a dozen pretty nice gills.
