Hello everyone! I was wondering, once the big blue cats come off the spawn, can you go out and catch them? I remember about 2 years ago in Late August, all the guides locally and on the bigger lakes we’re catching big blues like crazy once the blues were done spawning, but haven’t seen it repeated expect for that year.. . Was this just the year or is this normal when they come off the spawn?

Typically here on Lake Texoma I don’t have much luck consistently catching bigger fish in a post spawn pattern unless we are getting a lot of rain that has our rivers pushing fresh water into the lake. Here on Texoma I typically don’t start fishing for them tell mid September once we get a cold front or start seeing a lot of rain. A strategy that helps catch them this time of year is to target them at night.
