We should probably shut down a few weeks to slow the spread and then implement mail in voting and drop boxes just to be safe.

I struggle to think of reasons why this virus would stay just in the gay community. It appears to require a fair bit of skin contact to spread, but obviously there are plenty of switch hitters. It may be a function of promiscuity and the life cycle of the virus. The average gay man has something like 3-5X the number of sexual partners as the average heterosexual. In cities, I'd guess it might be more like 10X. Folks with Monkeypox are contagious for roughly a month. It may be that in cities enough gay men don't go long enough without a new partner that it continues to spread. Conversely the average heterosexual only has something like 7 partners over the course of their life. Obviously most are going more than a month without intimate contact, hence it may repeatedly be introduced into the heterosexual pool but then quickly die out. I could see it maybe taking off at college campuses this fall though... Who knows... Time will tell, but I'd be careful being too arrogant here.

On the upside, the married olds on this forum should be extra safe given it sounds like most are lucky to get any more than twice a year or so.

I've reached a point in life where I don't have to worry about sexually transmitted deseases.

7 partners? I had that by 21 I hadn't even hit the bars yet. That's where I really bumped up those numbers.

As for the monkey pox. I have not followed it at all. Seen some memes about gay dudes with it. I honestly thought it was an AIDS reference and scrolled on. Other than that, I view it as another scare tactic by the powers that be.
