Headed down to Galveston with the family at the end of August for a couple of days and planned on getting up each morning to go fish the surf for a couple hours before everyone wakes up. I've been keeping up with the surf cams and Magic Seaweed app lately and unless conditions change before then, the surf might not be the way to go.. Do y'all have any suggestions on any other places I could go for a couple hours each morning as a back up plan or just fish the surf regardless and see what happens?
Also, any suggestions on best places to eat in Galveston.. I haven't been down there in years.
Thanks Fellas!

DEFINITLEY GO TO SHRIMP AND STUFF. GOOD FOOD AND WON'T BREAK THE BANK FEEDING FAMILY. FISHED SEA WOLF PARK LAST YEAR SAW SOME PEOPLE CATCHING SOME SPECKS WADE FISHING A COVE TO THE WEST OF THE PIER. SAW A FEW SMALL SHARKS CAUGHT NEAR THE PIER. ITS AN OPTION. IN AUGUST SOMETIMES THE SURF GETS CALM AND CLEAR AND TROUT BITE IS GOOD.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A SAFE TRIP
