Took an trip to Cancun, had a few adult beverages And a great time, spent 4 hours on the water with a guide catching new species for me! What is your experience fishing in other countries?

Me and two buddies chartered a boat in Mexico on spring break in 1991. We had stayed up until 3:00 a.m. the night before drinking tequila and smoking cigars and I was still hungover (drunk) when we got to the dock. After we left the pier to head out I learned that there was no water on the boat, only Dos XXX and Corona to drink. I turned down a dramamine from one of my friends because "I never get sea sick". We were four hours out and in the morning there was fifteen foot swells. I started to feel not so hot and kept saying to myself, I am not going to get sick, I am not going to get sick. I took the dramamine but it was too late. I had to lie down in the center of the boat below the deck and could not go into the bathroom cause I knew that would make me hurl. Next thing I know one of my friends said Hey Steve, get up, Eric has a sailfish on. I got up and walked to the back of the boat and watched for about two minutes and said, F it, come get me when he gets it in. It was 105 pounds. I thought to myself, well this is great, I paid $175 dollars and I am not even going to get to fish. About thirty minutes later the sea had calmed and I was feeling better. Eric had caught another sailfish and my other friend had caught some nice bonita including a half of a bonita that was bitten in half by a shark as he was bringing it in. We only had a little bit of time left so I got in the chair and ending up catching an 86lb sailfish, still the biggest fish I have ever caught. When I got it in, after 35 minutes, my shoulder was on fire from pumping the rod and it was time to go back. It took four hours to get back to the pier and it turns out that ours was the only boat to catch sailfish. We tipped the guides well and proceeded to go to Sr. Frogs and do jello shots the rest of the night...Man those were the days!

Those were the days is right! When we could still do things like that! How quickly those days turned into bad backs, bad knees, a bucket of prescription pills every morning and night and getting winded tying my shoes if I can reach them....oh well, can still fish so there is that!
