When I want bbq it’s gonna get eaten at Chisholm Trail.

No barbecue anywhere is worth standing in line more than five minutes for. Todd at Cattleacks BBQ used to give away free beer to all the people standing in line so I could do about 20 minutes there and that’s it

Just like seemingly everything else in our society, it ain't how it used to be in Lockhart.

You obviously don't know s... about good BBQ.

roflmao I am thinking Moto knows good BBQ when he tries it. My favorite BBQ place of all time was EBs at lake fork. All I got.

Moto knows his stuff for sure.

City Market in Elgin and Austin have always been one of my favorites.

That crud you got Moto doesn’t look any good in the pic so I can only imagine how bad it was in person.

Looks reheated and that’s one thing I hate.

City Market was one of my favorites, but I got food poisoning from there back in September.

City Market has gone downhill since Buddy retired and sold it to his brother and a couple of employees.

Drive on to Gonzales and go to Baker Boys. BBQ is as good as the old City Market and they offer all the trimmings.

Our family used to make regular pilgrimages to Smitty’s in Lockhart.

That all stopped when HEB opened one of their True Texas BBQ shops near us.
They live up to their name in spades. Amazing BBQ.

Have to admit, I've tried the brisket 3 times at the HEB in south Austin and it is pretty darn good.

Seems like Texas BBQ has left the old Lockhart/central Texas places in their dust. There is great BBQ all over Texas now. In years past Lockhart was the Mecca…not anymore.

Used to go through Lockhart on the way to Rockport and tried all the BBQ there. Then started going to Rockport down 77 and discovered City Meat Market in Giddings. No reason to go back to Lockhart.
