Headed to Eagles Nest 2nd week of August. Will be fly fishing Eagles Lake and Cimarron State Park river area. Any suggestions on what color and type of flies I need to be fishing with would be appreciated. I have driven by the Cimarron river several times on the way to Red River but have never stopped to fish it. Some places look real good.

I'm guessing there is an entrance fee to payed to fish in the State Park area.

We did pretty good on olive and also black wooly buggers a few years ago in the lake. That lake was loaded with yellow perch if you're wanting some really good eating. We caught those with spinning rigs on rebel tiny crawfish crank baits.

On the Cimarron dry dropper. They’ll eat the dry and you can pop the dropper off. Stimmy or a small foam caddis dry

*Eagle. Their stockers, they will eat anything. River is fishing good. Lake is also fishing good. Because of the fires, the Lake got everyones fish for about 2 months, lots of fish, pike fishing has been fair.
Lake is starting to turn over, so the moss is showing its ugly head, also way down.
Stop in at the fly shack, we will hook you up. Yes $5 daily fee
