Channels are biting in 15-20 ft close to deep water , seems the later the night goes the more bites you will get
They are coming 3 to one on live bluegill over shad or cut shad have not tried punch bait or anything like that I fished 3 nights over the weekend and caught fish in same pattern different spots

The wife and I never having kids, when I take kids out I have made a big deal out of getting some of the slime from the fish on them, for good luck on us catching more and bigger fish. Some of my sisters kids and their kids have been all in for that, some not so much lol.

We played with the sonar and most of the young people showed me more than I showed them, go figure. Give these little people a smart phone and they can really surprise you. I just wanted them out of the house and getting dirty doing the time trusted sport of fishing.

From whether it was putting whatever live bait you were fishing with or the dough and punch bait that none of the little people I have taken out was really fond of lol. One of my sisters kids once ask me why she needed slime from the first fish she just caught, and went on about when I showed her how and let her hook here live bait on, she had gotten more than enough slime from that. You could have blowed me over with a feather, as I lol.
