 Today turned into a catch and release day on Fork.

Went to Fork this morning planning on catching some channels for a family fish fry.
Got to the 515 ramp and I had lost the lid to the ice chest. Oh well, what you going to do?
Just fish and explore. I caught fish everywhere I stopped. Started out in the trees north of the bridge in 19โ of water.
Caught fish any where from 8โ deep all the way to the bottom.
Tried a couple of spots and both produced well. Went and fished another area in trees north of the bridge in 17โ and tore them up there to but all these fish were 2 cranks off the bottom. Got some bites at 3 cranks but none at 4 or more.
Go figure. Then went south the bridge and hit a couple of spots. 20โ and 23โ
Caught fish everywhere. Ended up catching 102 this morning. Probably 50 or so were 13+ inches. Only caught two really nice fish this morning. Both probably 4-5 lbs. was a fun morning and a learning morning.
My take away this morning. These dang channels are everywhere!

Actually no. I have used your bait before and it worked well however I found that if I missed a bite the bait as often as not had come off my hook.
The bait I used is called Pafford's Punch Bait. It is made by a man (James) who lives near Brownwood Texas. That stuff is amazing and I have caught as many
as 5 fish after baiting my hook once. Now I usually rework the bait on the hook after every fish and rebait if most the bait has come off but sometimes I just throw
back in and keep catching fish. Just for grins I have used some tiny amounts and caught fish just as well as having a big glob on the hook.
