saw ALOT of folks night fishing on belton this weekend,., it looked like a UFO convention with all of the boats lit up with green lights..
there is an enormous amount of baitfish from the bridge, to past mid lake right now. bite was tough for us during the daytime, wondering how folks are doing at night.
There are LOTS of trees that are sitting just below the water line right now, so if u go out be careful. we went over a tree in 17 feet of water that would have likely capsized a small boat , especially if it was going fast.
Belton has a huge amount of timber in it that will soon be visible if the water level continues to drop.
on the south side of the bridge theres a huge pile of concrete pilings that were put from remnants of the old bridge, they are not far below the water line, they will destroy an outboard.. they are abt midway in the lake abt 50 yards from the bridge..
also on the north side of the bridge, there is the old bridge abatement.. its around 3.5 feet underwater right now. it goes abt 40 percent across the lake, parallel with the new bridge., from both sides.. you would never think it was there, until you hit it...
Belton can be deadly when the water is low.,. slow your roll and try to run the center of the river channel..
if the water level drops another 2 to 3 feet, it will actually be alot safer, because u will see most of the timber lines, but right now you cant.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I fished that lake once years ago.... Good crappie lake....
Just because you see water don't mean you can run a boat there..... There's that thing called a lower unit that can easily hurt or kill you if it hit subsurface debris or stationary objects ..... eeks
