So a few friends want to rent a lake house. I was looking at Whitney and there ain’t much for lakefront/boat access and I saw granbury has quite a few rentals with private docks. I’ve had decent luck trolling and top water fishing for striped bass at Whitney but wanted to see if anyone had any recent info for granbury and were willing to share some tips on getting them. Thanks I’m advance!

I’ve never fished it but on those river style lakes the fish tend to hold in the bends. Usually there is a nice gradual contour change on one side of the bend which is very attractive to temperate bass such as striper and white bass. With it being summer tend to focus efforts on the lower half of the lake as that is typical of their pattern versus up the river in where they might try to have a spawning run or go through that urge to move up stream towards warming water in late winter.

I highlighted in green the three areas I would focus efforts on before looking anywhere else. They ought to be possibly up shallow early and move towards deeper water as day progresses.

That lake gets a ton of pleasure boat traffic on it. I would avoid trying to fish it on the weekend unless you go early and leave early. Just my 2 cents...
