Is it as simple as the YouTube videos make it look? Is this a DIY project most people can do? I have a break that needs to be replaced. I don’t want to pay someone to do what seems like a simple fix.

Can I do this without burning down the house?

This plus, don’t snap the new breaker in with a screw driver in your hand. Put it in your pocket that way after you have swapped the breaker out you can go back in the house set down with the screw driver in your pocket and poke a hole in your wife’s new chair.

Thanks, Billy

It's easier than YT makes it seem. Changed dozens/100's with the panel hot.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Yep, this. Beats blowing the end off the screwdriver.

If you can take your panel down then no problem. If not then you have to pay attention to what your doing but not overly difficult.

I agree it is simple. Be aware that shutting off the main breaker does not mean everything in the panel is not hot though. The main lugs still have current in them with the main breaker off. This is assuming that the main breaker is in the panel you are working on.

Some are outside. I think we have a better chance of a brownout with Mudshark changing a breaker then with me flipping switches over.
