Just heard back from the dealership...

Technician failed to put the recommended lubrication in the AC compressor causing it to seize up and damage the internal compressor clutch. They're covering the repairs of course, but now I'm really second guessing all the extras that happened while they had the car. Since all of these are linked by the same accessory belt, the alternator going out seems suspicious to me. Along with the blower fan melting the harness. With the extra load due to improper installation, I wonder if these caused them to fail? Who knows, but I'm not excited about the "what if" either. This could have easily caused her car to catch fire had she not caught it quickly and been minutes from the house.

We're going to speak to the manager, yes, this is one of those times where my inner KAREN is coming out. They have failed on several levels to communicate effectively, catch the issue(s) while in their shop, and potentially caused additional harm to the vehicle.

This is good to know....was going to do some research on this so I have backing on it.

Just looked...Autozone, RockAuto, and NAPA, all had the oil shipping separately as a part of the kit. What a douche nozzle.

I would never take a car to a dealership for repair. Most of the service managers work on commissions. They don't call them Stealerships for nothing. The more they can find wrong with your vehicle, the more they make.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

I know the car market is nuts , but I couldn’t put that kind of money in a 05’ Maxima.

Good luck.
