With this new reservoir opening up soon, and all the work TPWD has done in terms of habitat building and ShareLunker stocking, do you think Bois d'Arc will be the best bass fishing lake in the country at some point in the next 5-15 years?

It should be a "no bass tournament lake" at least for 5-7 years. Also a slot limit.

I voted that it’s got a chance. It needs smallmouth/largemouth to be great in my book. But my book is different than most. I doubt smallmouth would be in the works though, so it will be just another Lake when it’s done.

No it's going to end up just like Cooper, start off strong out of the gate then the uncontrollable water fluctuation will end up making it just another lake.

I agree with Ranger1. Siltation will be the long-term destruction. Look at Richland Chambers.

If TPWD put the amount of effort into making it a great bass lake like have have Fork it could be. But so far of all of the lakes in Texas Fork is the ONLY lake they have ever put so much effort into.

Well the 16 inch max on Bass that TPWD is doing there will give it a chance to be great and not beat to death by tourneys.

It will have 20 tournies a weekend on it when it opens.
It doesn't look to have enough ramp access for being so close to Dallas north

Only if it gets hydrilla and TPWD doesnt destroy it. It will likely have hydrilla in it naturally

Why would someone think it would be the greatest? Chambers, Roberts, Cooper and even Purtis Creek all opened after Fork - they were all hailed to be the next Fork........ Look at them now.

Cooper and Purtis Creek were both awesome before they weren't Still a head scratcher how TPWD cratered Purtis on purpose
