years ago, guys used to sink 30 gal. barrels for catfish in Miss. river oxbow lakes…..I poked a snapping turtle once with a stick and he bit that stick in two ….seeing that cured any desire I had to stick my hand in a hole under water….

projects by the Lake Fork Sportsmans Assoc. to enhance spawning. Now exposed because of the low lake level.

This will tell how old some of y’all are: remember Dr. Loren Hill? AKA “The Bass Scientist”? Not to be confused w/Doug Hannon AKA “The Bass Professor”. He’s the entrepreneur who sold the bass world PH monitors and the Color-C-Lector to drag around in your boat to scientifically catch more bass. He also sold those Fish-N-Trees to put out as structure. About 4’ tall with a weighted base and PVC branches. Basically tiny PVC Christmas trees. If memory serves(and it often doesn’t) they were like $45 each. Convincing(marketing) fishermen to spent dumb money is not a new phenomenon! Those look like a homemade “Bubba” version of Dr. Hill’s “structure”. Anyone but me remember these?
