Maybe we can get a real pro like David w/Shut Up and Fish to give us some fruitful info on them. Cost vs. longevity, advantages over lead, etc. Really thinking of changing out my trolling motor batteries next go around. I think they are a real plus for Livescopers!!!!!!

Stay led acid or AGM for the starting battery. If your budget allows, yes, go lithium for the trolling motor and dedicated electronics. Bill, the only experience I have with Lithium are the ones I carry. They are 12v 100Ah in a group 24 size at 22 lb. Weight savings and worry free of a dead battery will be in your favor.
We have many guides and tournament anglers on the water under our umbrella running these batteries and they are (along with me) blown away and completely satisfied with their performance. Our battery has Bluetooth monitoring right from your cell phone. 5 Yr. warranty

I recommend the Noco GenPro On Board Charger to manage your EG4 batteries. We carry them as well...

We made the witch earlier this year and have been real happy! In windy conditions my batteries were dead by 1pm. With lithiums we can fight the wind all day. Clay's boat is pretty much the same. In fact I fished 3 days in the wind without charging them earlier this year. No way I could have done that with the AMG's. If the budget allows I think you will be happy! thumb

Nothing wrong with a lithium for a cranking battery as long as it has a BMS designed for it.

Some motor manufacturer's have in their manual "not to use lithium batteries for the engine" If one chooses to go lithium on the big motor that's on them. As a dealer I have to tell them this.

There's not a single outboard manufacturer that recommends them and I don't blame them for disclosing that because for every good lithium with a proven BMS there are about a 100 that aren't. Also, if your referring to Mercury they changed their tune from voiding the warranty to not covering any damage that may have been caused by the battery. Heck even big 3 from Bass Pro offer them as a factory option.

I'm also betting within a year or 2 Mercury will approve ReLion batteries seeing as how their parent company Brunswick acquired them this past year.

Hey Bill (Beltonbanger), It looks as though you found other pro' in your search for answers...I guess I stand corrected. coach
Me personally will be staying led acid or AGM for the starting battery for just a little while longer. In talking with both Mercury and Yamaha it has been said "NO" to Lithium. Tip to those that would plan to do so. I would call 1st. just to be safe...
By the way, did you receive your Livescope bundle ?

All Lithium Bats will be from China and the majority will have a (BMS) battery management system.

The EG4 will be the only battery on the market in a group 24 size, 12v 100Ah, weighing in at 22 lbs, w/BMS and Bluetooth monitoring from your cell phone priced at $550.00. This battery will allow you to be worry free while on the water and in the garage while on the charger.

I recommend the Noco as it is just a great charger handling all makes and models of batteries.
