Very good day to be outside on the water. Pretty much overcast & not too hot until mid afternoon. Drug Doc outa bed early & we fished from daybreak until 2:30. Split our time between bass & Sunfish about equal. Water temp was high 80s to high 90s depending on location. We caught exactly 100 sunfish & 28 bass. Doc caught a couple of real nice Rios off the rock piles as well. Sunfish were mostly in depths from 5-9 feet & all caught on 1" Gulp Alive minnows fished drop shot rig. Colors used today were Watermelon Pearl & Smelt. Bass were mostly caught around depths of 12-18 feet & caught on Swimbaits fished directly on the bottom. The biggest bass was over 5 lbs & we had some 4s & lots of 3s as well. We used both Storm wild eye shad & Tsunami swimbaits in the 3 " variety. Lots of fun to finally get Doc back out there after a rough spring... [Linked Image]

It was GREAT to get out on the water today with Steve at Fayette after so long. We were blessed with an unseasonable mild morning with good cloud cover and mild breezes. This took the edge off what become a hot
afternoon. The parking lot at the lake said it all. Only 4 trailers !! Fishing and fellowship was tops ! So glad I got to go.

Thanks Chuck...
Tom...Hope u r having a great trip.
Flip...The water temp in most areas of the lake was around 88-90 degrees. At the discharge in the summer it is always around 100 degrees plus, and that area of the lake always is warmer. The main lake has been getting up to the mid 90s by late afternoon, but with all the cloud cover yesterday it didn't get that hot...

ZQ...The lake is Fayette County Lake (FCL) near La Grange. I try to fish there once a week. Out of action now due to bearing axle issues on trailer. I am from New Braunfels...where do you call home ?
