I mainly bank fish. However friends of mine who have boats are getting good numbers of sunfish on Meadow Lake in Seguin TX, Lake Mcqueeney, Canyon Lake, and Lake Austin. Calaveras Lake and Braunig Lake, both in San Antonio, also have good numbers of sunfish. Side Note: To the TFF! Looking forward to reading more of your post.

We were at calaveras today. We could see bream beds all over the lake bottom and we were All over that lake, never even got a nibble. Not a bait stealer, nothing.

I would LOVE to fish McQueeney but I don’t live there, and u can’t fish if u don’t live there. There are no public boat ramps on Mcqueeney. The only public ramp is located in a subdivision off of FM 725. The ramp is in poor condition but I have seen boats launching from it with no problems. The main lake is about 3 to 4 miles down river.

If you have a kayak there are plenty of great places to fish both here and in the Austin area. Boats included. Lake Austin, Travis, LBL, Calaveras, Brunig, Choke Canyon, and Canyon lake just to name a few.

I do not target sunfish. Judging by Vogey's post along with his friends, they seem to be doing very good on both the sunnies and bass, fishing from a boat. I would follow their post. You will not go wrong.
