Nice video. I wonder the same thing. What part of the state was your video recorded? I was told years ago (maybe on here) that bluegill spawned on the full moons starting in March through September. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not. I would assume itโs also water temperature related till it warms up enough in March to suit their liking. That March thru Sept thing could have been about the previously magical lake Fairfield when it was a hot water lake and on nutrient steroids.
Iโm in west Texas now and went to Champion Creek reservoir near Colorado City with a bunch of live crickets this past Sunday morning. Fished in a lot of likely spawning areas from 6โ to 13โ and found zero bluegill. We caught several small channel cats, a couple of chunky teen age largemouth, and one single green sunfish about 3โ long. I know the lake has bluegill in it and 40 years ago, it was reported to have big big ones. I am searching lakes within 80 miles or so of Big Spring and sure would like to find a place that has some big ones.

Side Note: Certain waterbodies I fish the spawn is over. Then there are other waterbodies I fish where the spawn is on.

In my ponds, they can be found on beds all the way through to cold weather. Its called a rolling spawn.

Hi Meadowlark!! It may have been you that was talking about the long season of spawns I was thinking of. How are things going at your place? I bet the grandkids are still keeping you on your toes.

Some of the places I fish there is no spawn. There are other places I fish where the spawn is on. Go figure. I agree with Chuck.
