Some good info discussed. Sounds like a lot more to be released during Icast.

I agree and it seems to be more about business than trying to crush anyone's pipe dreams

I'm liking the way it is heading. It must be treated as a business first and foremost. Professional Tournament fishing will grind on anyone and to make it to the Elites you better be an Elite in all facets. You need to have at least three legs for any stool to stand. And for a blue-collar man to make it, it may take while to get those legs under you. Fishing ability is only one leg. Having a good grasp of business and marketing could be the other two. Those with deep pockets can do it for a while until reality sets in. If you have the ability, passion and drive I still believe a blue-collar man can make it. It for sure will not be easy, but when you get there, you will have earned it!

I 100% agree with you. The ones that really have the desire and ability will learn to market themselves and get sponsors that will help them finance their journey. It's all part of it.

The people up in arms about a BASS decision, which was brought on at the request of the anglers in the Elites and Opens, are never going to qualify for anything at that level. They are just a "guy with a dream"
