I have, and use an iPhone 6. A relative (that used an iPhone 13) passed away, and I’m wanting to move all my stuff to their 13. I have the passcode to open the 13, BUT I have no idea what Apple ID & password would be (if it’s needed). Lastly, I have Verizon cell service.

What I’m wanting to do, in order:
1) Completely erase the iPhone 13. (Factory re-set?)
2) Move everything currently on my 6 to the 13.
3) Completely erase the iPhone 6. (Factory re-set?)
4) Ensure the 13 is set up with Verizon.

I’ve heard that this can all be accomplished without having to physically visit a Verizon store, but I have no idea how to do it. Would greatly appreciate any help you could provide!

If it was me I would make the trip to the Verizon store. Every time we get a new phone we let the ATT store make the transfer.

Take it to the closest Verizon store and they’ll tell you what to do. The transfer from an old iPhone to new iPhone is easy, and the phones basically tell you what to do. However since you’re transferring from a phone that is used and don’t have the Apple ID info, it may be a little more tricky.

Go to a one hour phone repair place... they'll get that [censored] out. Not sure how long it would take to move info though.

Apple makes it extremely easy to do what you want. There is a process to do it almost by itself. Google data transfer to new iPhone. You will need to do a factory reset the iPhone 13 then go through setup with the old phone near it. Make sure they are both on the same Wi-Fi network.

Thanks y’all! Yeah, I think going to the store may be best. I’ve read several articles on it and watched multiple videos, I don’t want to get stuck halfway thru if/when the DIY method requires the Apple ID and password.

But really, thanks to you all!

It took AT@T 4.5 hrs to transfer my data to my new phone. Guy said he never saw so many texts messages.

Save your stuff to the cloud and upload to new phone from the cloud. Pretty simple
