I've been doing some bass fishing lately from my SUP (stand-up paddle board). Trying to combine some exercise with fishing. I take a small tackle bag out with me. In it are baits, weights, hooks, fishing plyers, clippers, and reading glasses, since I now have to have them to tie a knot.

It adds another dimension to the sport balancing on a board while you set the hook, reel in, unhook and release a fish.

Anything else y'all would include in the tackle bag?

Why would you need TP on the water in the summer?

Guessing you are pre applying sunscreen +/- bug spray.

Cheap $2 braid scissors from Wmart—prefer them to clippers for cutting any line, especially if you snag on someone’s 65lb braid

Loud whistle or air horn if you need to get someone’s attention.

Fish grippers are nice to avoid a hand of treble hooks.

Multitool

Loctite gel superglue

Paracord

Sunscreen is always a good idea, but I haven't used it much because I don't last standing on the board over an hour or so. I have a dock, so can fish from the board twice a day without all the load/unload time. Big difference from being on a bass boat all day long. Not fishing braid from the SUP as a safety factor, so clippers are all I need. Loud whistle is definitely a good idea, but mostly fishing my very low-traffic cove right now. Never needed fish grippers on bass. Got a pair of plyers and clippers, so may not need a multi-tool - trying to keep the load as light as possible. What might I need superglue and paracord for?

Thanks for the help!

If there isn't an ice chest with some beers in there, then I am grossly disappointed in you JP.

I use gel superglue to keep plastics on some hooks better, rub a drop onto skin cuts (after cleaning the cut) to seal the cut, and rub a drop into line to line knots.

Paracord if I want to temporarily tie the SUP onto a stump or a big rock if I want to do some wade fishing. Good for measuring fish. Good for towing the SUP if I need to portage it any distance. Useful as a stringer if keeping anything.

You can add one to sit on, but that would defeat the purpose of getting some exercise. grin If I was drinking beer, my azz would be planted on the cooler the whole time.

Here's the setup.

Very cool JP. I’m fishing up North the next few weekends but will ping you when back out there and come see this so called exercise. Clearly I need some.
