Looks like OR2TX & TOO are the only TFF folks fishing the Coastal Bend area.

As said before, post the successful with the unsuccessful.

Fished Tues & Wed on Mustang Island on a Big Fish bite, meaning targeting and expecting to catch only 4-5 fish at a specific time, place and type of fishing. A get serious about the attempt but not our self fishing act. We were fishing for above average sized trout.

It's a drive up & walk to spot, easy to access, actually fished a bunch but generally not very productively.

GLW came along, she knows the drill & what is expected & how it will probably be like. She wanted to fish, so same two silver spoons for her. Topwater & hard body for TOO.

Tues, GLW fished and spanked me on numbers, 2 trout, 2 skippies. Trout were small, 16 & 14'ish. Her other half ended up with 5 hook ups, 1 skippy, two that felt like trout, one HUGE strike with drag pulled, rod bent then off in about 3 seconds & one trout with a very large mouth that came up shook head & threw the lure.

It always amazes me when a fish will bite a lure w/3 treble hooks & can toss the lure out or not get hooked at all. Didn't bring a fish to net, last two were what we were aiming for, but didn't seal the deal.

Left being pumped up for Wed.

Wed, same set up, location, & gear.

GLW hooked 2 skippies, both threw the spoon, TOO ended up with 4 skippies, not what I was looking for, but that's the way it happens. Conditions were good, water right, fish were there. Tues had the opportunity, didn't close the deal on the fish.

We'll be back out there again when conditions are right, know the time frame just got to do something to get all 9 hooks in the damn mouth.
