Romero, I wouldn't put much stock in a two piece rod for catfish. A 50 or 60 pounder will probably wreck that thing on the first run. Get you a couple of Mad Katz rods. They're priced good and they are STOUT! Go to www.MadKatzGear.com and watch the video on how strong they are. I got some of them and I've been totally satisfied with em.

They are very well built Rods and handle big fish fine, but 10' rods are not made for a boat. They are bank/pier rods and do a great job.

I still have a few but just use them from shore. Mainly at buddy's place on the river that we cast 4oz 3-ways in to a deep hole to catch flatheads from the dock, during the day.
They'll handle any fish you hook 'em up to.
Why do all those Madcatz rods look like Barney the dinosaur just deuced 'em out?

I have been using Pro Angler rods ain’t about 2013 they are really good rods. I like them much better the the mad cats I've also been a Pro Angler rod user for nearly 20 years and they handle blues up to 64.8# with ease. Vaughn Coomer put a 60+ in the boat at Tawakoni also on a 7.5 Medium action Pro Angler.

Well, i gotta say, if Jackie says their good rods then i believe it! He's put a lot of good fish in the boat over the past 20 years. I've never tried them although I've used about 10 or 12 different brands through the years. I've been totally satisfied with the Mad Katz. I can assure you they are STOUT, well made rods. I would definitely entertain the Pro Angler rods, especially for the price. I personally have had a couple of two piece rods that didn't last but they weren't quality rods by any means. I may have to get one of these and give it a shot. If they are good rods then you definitely can't beat that price.
