!00 hrs. before the first oil change on my new 150 HP 4 stroke Mercury seems too long ?

Some mechanics recommend after the first 20 hours but the manual says after 100 hours... I called Mercury's customer service number and they said after the first 100 hours or once every season whichever comes first. It's not real expensive so do whatever makes you feel better... Dan
