Light that took 13.6 bn years to get here. Going to be some great pics coming. How do they know how far away those started from? I need a rangefinder like that, you know..for deer hunting..

I believe the pics are infra-red and they assign a different color for each type of infra-red light to get the colorized photos you see. The colors could be completely wrong.

I don't know about the god part in all of this but the pictures of the universe are awesome. And somewhere out there is intelligent life....we aren't the only ones in this universe.
