With being in Colorado twice in the last couple of months and not getting the fish. With one of those times my fly fishing gear gets stolen on top of that. I had to make a run for the fish. I fished several glacier lakes multiple rivers creeks and streams over four days. But the first day I had two rods a nymph set up and a dry rod. About two hours in the name Fraud was in the backpack and at midday break for food nymph rod stayed in the car. I started fishing double dries with a small green stimulator and a parachute green drake. As the day progressed went to a green drink in the front with a parachute Adams in the back. It was absolutely lights out with great quality fish to be had. I tried to get several people to go but I went on a suicide run by myself it went great. Golfer Jef I wished I had known you were gonna be out that direction I would’ve hooked up when I was on that side of the pass. You told me what car you were in I knew I saw that car drive by me the day before. Hope you did great as well.Of all the places I like to fish on Fourth of July weekend I never came across another angler there were people fishing up and down the river just not where I wanted to be and it was amazing solitude with eager fish epic trip for sure. I haven’t even gotten to pull stuff off the GoPro we had I didn’t have much memory left could’ve just ran it nonstop.

Glad you finally got a trip to go your way Robert. Those Browns are some beautiful fish. Lovely looking water. Now that you are through with those cold water fish we need to go after some Carp.

That sounds like a plan as long as we don’t have to use a parachute Adams! I’ve had four flies hooks actually penetrate me good all four times a parachute Adams lol. I’ve been whacked in the head by a bunch of heavy weighted streamers but never had one Stick thank goodness I wear a hat

Awesome Robert! Lights out fishing in solitude. Can't beat that. You caught some excellent fish. Dry flies, definitely my personal favorite especially when conditions allow you to site cast to them. Great trip and great post!

That was the craziest thing of all Fourth of July weekend every pull off seem to have people at it except for my favorite places I never fish next to another angler.
