I ordered a bunch of them last year and tried them 3 or 4 trips, and I've never caught a fish. I keep going back to my tried and true slabs to catch them. I'm not giving up on them because I know they work for others, I just haven't got them figured out yet.
Double Row, thanks for sticking with it! When I hear input like yours, two questions come to mind:
1) are you certain you are "on" fish when you are using whatever lure you are using? (Meaning: has sonar revealed the presence of fish and, if so, have you positioned on or near those fish accurately?)
2) are you certain that you are getting the MAL Lure's blade spinning each time you make a presentation, be that vertically or horizontally? If you haven't watched my tutorial video, skip to 2:26 and give it a watch. You have to be proactive to get that blade spinning, but there are a number of ways to verify that you have done so. It is all spelled out in the video.
I now have fellow guides on most well-known Texas white bass lakes using these lures successfully, and especially so in the summer months.
Heck, if you keep having trouble, I'd be willing to do a "Facetime" tutorial if you can get your wife, kid, or fishing buddy to hold the camera while I check out your technique.
Persistence pays off!
