That's the real deal. I saw planes doing that at Pat Cleburne yesterday too because there was a fire near Alvarado.

I’d hate to see one scoop a stump with the low water! I guess they have warden boats making the shallow flats ?

State has been filling with water at Whitney and filling with retardant at Cleburne airport for days for wildfires just south of Walnut Springs. Yesterday(Saturday) they were just mopping up.

I laugh just about every shift at what people do regarding emergency vehicles. Gone are the says where people yield to emergency vehicles running lights and sirens.
We can be working a scene and may have several fire trucks and multiple police vehicles all parked with lights running while we are working. Inevitably someone almost always will try to drive right through the scene.
I don't even get mad anymore.

From above they can easily see the depth and areas to stay away from.

Because Waco continues to close ramps, I almost went to Whitney today. Did they happen to say what part of the lake is being used?

I would guess it might vary based on weather, pilot preference and other factors.

Looks like the message is vague on purpose. Just saying stay away when you see them working an area... rather than saying "They are working the west side of the dam" or "They are working Donkey Flats" or whatever.
