Had my parents in town over the weekend, along with my 17 yr old nephew. They got here Saturday, and we went and watched the air show on Cedar Creek Saturday evening- was really nice.
Water was only about 24" deep at my dock Saturday. Normally closer to 5 feet deep. And lake is losing 1/2" or more per day. Had to use the trolling motor to get the boat out into the main cove, but we made it. Decided to get up early on Sunday and try to catch a few blues, before all the party crowd woke up. Left the dock about 5:30, after I had caught bait, then shook the boys out of bed.
Marked good bait and fish in about 25' of water in a river bed, but wind was not working well for the drift... kept having to adjust and zig-zag over it. Was not seeing much outside of the river bed. Managed to catch a few eaters, and let everyone have a little fun, before the boats and jet fleas started popping up. Was getting hot also. Anytime I can get my 81 yr old father out with my son, and nephew this time, it is a good day. No big fish, but a fun family trip.
Looks like my fishing from the big boat is done until we have some major rain! Need a tropical storm or two I guess... Good side is that I should be able to clean and paint the dock legs pretty easily this summer, if it does not rain. Will not even be muddy in another month, if we don't get those storms. May have to figure out how to put some rod holders on the duck boat.
Take care all!

It is very dry here in southcentral and south Texas. We need a hurricane! Side Note: Without the wind and flooding!

Glad you got some time out soaking baits Ken, and looks like a great time.
Yup, we need some more H2O for sure, and something to cool this heatwave right now.

Take care all! Well if you can't get your boat out, that sounds like a good excuse to come up to Lavon and fish with Catfish Tim! Just sayin...
