I'm taking the family up to Broken Bow in a couple of weeks and considering spending a few hours one day trying to put my son on some trout. I know absolutely zero about trout fishing or fly fishing. I was thinking some light weight spinning tackle/microlite may do the trick.

What kind of lures could I use with this setup? Thanks in advance.

Rooster tails, Trout Magnets, and/or Mepps Spinners as mentioned above.

Silver or bronze Super Dupers have become my go-to spinning lure for trout. No more than 4 lb test fluoro leader.
