I would greatly appreciate your input on a Port Aransas fishing guide recommendation for an August trip. Looking to take advantage while in Port Aransas for a family vacation...not sure if it is a good time to fish in August there...you guys are always catching big fish and would love to take the entire family out for some coastal fun.

Thanks in advance !

If you are looking for a private charter there are lots of guides that book out of Woody’s Fishing Adventure in Port Aransas. Unfortunately, I don’t have a specific recommendation. If you just want to catch fish, I have had lots of fun fishing with Dolphindocks. If you are there before 19 August red snapper season may still be open.

I think you meant Slow Ride Guide Service. Dean Thomas. Last week, I was by there and all his signs were down. Don't know if he's still open. Lots of changes around Woody's in PA, too. The property sold and there will be condos there in the future. The docks are still there, but I think the store is closed. Worth a call. Don't know if he's still guiding, but Gary Cooper, 361-813-2033, was at Woody's for years. Look up texasfishingtips youtube, and there are several guides that report there. Good luck. IslandJim
