I don’t think the SEC is done, they are just waiting. The ACC will have to make some moves or they will get eaten alive. And, will Notre Dame try to maintain their independence or become the big dog in most any of the conferences?

I think there was one year that neither Kansas or K State won a game, and they tied when they played each other.

The NCAA will be irrelevant in FBS Division One football within a couple of years. The Power five will likely become the Power Two. Greed and the desire for control will naturally result in Power Two secession from NCAA football oversight.
The NCAA will likely sputter along treading water if they are able to maintain control of March Madness. The NCAA basketball tournament is an enormous cash cow for them and the NCAA have been much smarter with legal positioning and trademarks to keep The Tournament under their control for a long time. Only a handful of schools are economically dominant in football and basketball (Florida, Michigan St, Michigan, UCLA) ; and this would additionally prolong NCAA control of March Madness.
The ramifications are far and wide. Very powerful organizations, namely MLB and the US Olympic committee, have a vested interest in seeing the college cash losing sports thrive. This would be jeopardized in a Power Two scenario with the football programs at those schools hoarding all the revenue.

Kansas has nothing outside of basketball. The conference will and should die.
Hookem Horns Kansas is tops in basketball but I can’t remember the last time their football team has won a game. They suck at football. Around 2007 they were a top 10 team in NCAA Football.
May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

You would think some of the more marketable brands would be scrambling to find a landing place. The Big XII could go after Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Arizona St. To get to a 16 team conference and be legit power 5. It's all about the money and sad to see what it is becoming.

Dan I suspect the NCAA will losing any governing authority over the football programs, any licensing money, etc, I think the big conferences, whoever and however, will take every nickle off the ncaa plate.

Honestly, with the NIL deal and this dumbazzery on conference "re-alignment", I don't expect i'll be a fan much longer. Maybe the Big 12 and ACC can get together and form a league where student athletes are happy with a scholarship after the SEC and Big 10 go pro. I dont care about Canadian or Arena football either... I have a feeling this is going to backfire on them in the long run. This makes sense right? Its about the money and control forget geography, Sure it is. Doesn't mean its a good idea. Killing regional rivalries, schools that have played each other a 100 years. I honestly believe this may backfire on them.

Eventually, it will self destruct. The current model is built on a network TV house of cards. Disney (ABC and ESPN) and Fox are the primary sources of revenue in football and CBS in basketball. The clock is ticking loudly as younger generations either VPN stream/mirror their entertainment or only have the attention span for five minutes of YouTube highlights.
