Topwater baby, topwater. Been slow till the past couple of weeks. Water 84, that helps.
Landed 16 on top, no monsters but they’re on the menu! (Not literally, figuratively).

Frog action still slow, poppers are the ticket, ploppers too. Otay Lake. Thank U Lord.
How’s yours?

Hint: I fish it all day, most don’t think you can. cheers

That’s awesome Michael. Funny thing, I thought the “Otay” in your name was paying homage to Eddie Murphy’s SNL buckwheat character roflmao roflmao

Is it 99 degrees with bright sunny skies where you are at?

Yes, it is, well, a bit more inland it is. Only 85 to 90 in east Chula Vista (Otay Lake).
15 miles east of the ocean, and 10 miles north of the border, that helps. The foggy morning cleared up after an hour or so, then blue bird skies all day.

Kudos on the fish and the sun protection. I went to the dermatologist last week and we had a discussion so it is on my mind.

It's no fun having to cover up completely, especially when it's hot, but the positive effects (less cutting up of places all over my face and body), is worth it in the long run. I feel sorry for folks when I see them fish with shorts, short sleeve shirts, and baseball hats. Any fair skinned folk WILL pay the price down the line. Some of my skin cancer recently was found to be melenoma, and that's the worse kind. It was a dime size on my back, but the cut an extra inch all around it to make sure it's completely removed. That was last Nov., so far, so good. But had basil cell cut out two weeks ago, another dime on my back. That's about 10 now in 10 years. Dimes off my ears, quarter out of my forehead, and cheek, and dimes off my shoulders here and there. SOOOO blessed that Derms are as good as they are at getting them early, has kept me alive. Good luck on yours.

I also saw my dermatologist last week and the news wasn't good. For a couple of decades I have been sure to wear all the essential sun protection gear but she told me 90%+ of the damage I'm currently dealing with happened by the time I was 30...which is more than half my life ago when I paid minimal attention to the situation. I still plan on playing defense out there though.

SOOO fun. But it's amazing how many threw the popper after hitting, or on the way to the boat. I usully don't miss many, but some 30% this time. Two treble hooks would seem to do it. It reminds me to sharpen the hooks after every two or three, does not take much to dull that super thin metal called a point, their mouths are very gristly huh? Same with my jerkbaits, constant sharpening ups my hookup and landing ratio. HINT: you CAN'T know if a hook is sharp by pushing the hook into your skin, nope, as that method almost always feels sharp (as in ouch). You need to run it over your fingernail. If it runs over easily without 'sticking', it's not sharp. You'll notice how sharp ones dig in, even without much pressure as you run it across. Most brand new lures have dull hooks. Frog hooks are hard to check, but need it too. You just have to work the hook out of the plastic a bit. Heck, this can keep you from getting skunked on those days where you'd only hooked one or two all day, which happens right? Ciao.

I just don’t see it. Kenny could probably still throw as a relief pitcher. He hasn’t gone completely gray yet either.
