I remember when you could get a St. Louis cut of ribs for about the price of spares or cheaper. Now spares are six bucks cheaper and now I buy the spares. Knock the chine bone off,separate the rib tips and now you have more meat at lower cost. It doesn't take that much work to save a lot of money.

I remember when you could get a St. Louis cut of ribs for about the price of spares or cheaper. Now spares are six bucks cheaper and now I buy the spares. Knock the chine bone off,separate the rib tips and now you have more meat at lower cost. It doesn't take that much work to save a lot of money. Exactly. The St Louis are $4.29/lb. Trimming is easy.

Take what you trim off.. put on the smoker to get some smoke... then add to your pintos...
