I installed Taco Marine lights. They are designs to fit the rub rail.

There are way to many regulations on how the lights have to be on the boat. I don't want to take the risk of having and accident and being at blame because the position of the lights were not in regulation. Not worth it to me that is why I have stuck to the factory nav lights.

They come with rub rail lighting from the factory now. Just saw a brand new Skeeter Wednesday night like that.

That’s way over simplified. The coast guard regs have it down to so many degrees fore and aft that the light can be visible, lumens of output, etc. Your pictures don’t show the nuts if the install.

My '19 and '21 year model Skeeters came with factory installed versions in stainless steel housings on top cap on bow of the boats. I thought the '23s had same lights?

I had read one regulation which stated the bow lights are to mounted on a vertical surface.

You are correct, looked like they were in the rub tail from a distance at night but saw the same 2023 skeeter Saturday morning and they’re on the top cap on each side. No more front light pole!

A,lot of the manufacturers don’t mount them to Coast Guard Specs. My Majek 22 Extreme has all the Navigation lights on the console. Functionally that’s ok. Port side you see the Red, Starboard side you see the green. White anchor light is up above everything. However it’s questionable if it meets the drawings. I see a bunch on Center Consoles that are similar. Maybe the Coast Guard has inspected them and they are ok?

I am always amazed how many people in the morning aren’t using their lights. In Venice LA it’s probably the worst anywhere I have been. If your leave out of Venice Marina or Cyoress Cove you go by the Coast Guard heading north. You would think they would get out and stop boats leaving without lights.

I really like having them built in. I just ordered tge Power Pole light kit so that I do not have to fool with digging out the light pole.
