Who in the hell would travel to fish lake sh!t pit?

I call it that and I know it as good as anyone.

There are several motels and hotels close to the lake, but none were made to accommodate =a bass fisherman. On the west side of the lake tread carefully, lots of crime in a ll the sec 8 apts in Garland.

I try to avoid that lake when I can but we usually have to fish a tournament there at least once a year. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn next to the Bass Pro Shop. Seems to have good lighting and at least the appearance of some security. No place to plug up and charge your batteries though. That is typical for pretty well all of the metromess hotels though. The Holiday Inn is the only hotel in the area that I have not had issues parking the boat. There really isn't a good option for an extended stay.

I’d look for a VRBO or something with secure parking. Nothing in the area is safe for your boat or catalytic converter.

So many sketchy apartments around BPS, I would def look for something on the Rockwall side of the lake. Rockwall PD still have a rep as head crackers and those people from the other side of the lake tread lightly in RW.

Garland and Rowlett are both down bad with sketchiness these days. Especially close to I-30.

Maybe I should rent out my driveway and charging plug in Wylie, about 10-15 minutes from the hwy 66 ramp...

Everywhere is sketchy these days.

Hope you find a good place to stay and catch a bunch while you are here.
