We changed out the water impeller today on a 2012 Mercury Optimax 150. After putting everything back together and starting the engine we found that when you put it in forward and reverse the prop does not move. After a quick google search I found that we may have turned the shaft and that could be the problem? Has anyone else ran into this and if so how do we know if the shaft is correct? We are going to tear back into it tomorrow. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I thank you may not have the shift rod connected. YouTube should have something that will help you.

you didn't get the shift shaft into the adapter is what it sounds like to me.
