Since the bad freeze I haven’t thought much of the coast. I heard rumors that the fishing is good again. What’s the situation down there? Also anyone know a good guide there? I have a boat but I’m clueless of the area. I was thinking about bringing the boat and fishing with a guide first to get familiar with the area. Any info will be much appreciated.
I’m thinking Port Isabel cause I’m bringing my girlfriend so we can hang out in Padre if it’s to windy to fish my 18ft Sea Ark.

Buddies up the road in Mansfield are having a lot of success, I mean like epic on big trout. They look like footballs.

I fished my 14 foot skiff there last July and November. I launched at Isla Blanca Park at South Padre, $12/day. A guy told me they have a monthly pass for $30. Annual is $100 I think, and lets you into all of the Cameron County parks. Lots of good guides, depending on what kind of fishing you want. And fishing is good. IslandJim
