Caught a few decent ones last couple of days 2 5lbers and a 6lber. No Live Scope so I'm fishing half a day for a couple of bites, but at least they are good sized.

Great job and hats off to you for fishing rather than hunting.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

I think he is referring to using Live Scope as more like hunting than fishing. I dont have Live Scope and have nothing against it, in fact, I will eventually get one myself.

Agreed...LS is a tool and has a time / place / purpose. One day I'll have it.

Nice job! I've really struggled the last few trips with only a couple of dinks, a couple big drum and two broken rods. Looks like you found 3 of the 8 fish that live in Roberts. wink

Had an "ok" day today at least for me. I couldn't get anything to fire up offshore but I'm not great at fishing deep. Started early in the coves between the dam and the marina and caught a bunch of fish from 12 inches to 3+lbs. Nothing big but good steady action.
Caught a few off the dam but most were in the bushes shallow in the pockets. Plenty of bushes still in the water and I don't think we caught a fish deeper than 3-4ft. A ton of shad packed into these pockets. Squarebills and frogs early. We did try to fish deeper but just couldn't buy a bite. Hit a few corp brushpiles but even the crappie fisherman we spoke with said they hadn't caught any.

Every bite is hard to get. I run from place to place, more so than normal, look at it with side scan and then throw two or three different baits at it. Typical summer fishing.

That's a really good day for RR. I hope I run into some like that next time there.

Glad you had a good day, I am jealous. Very happy for anyone who catches them on Ray Rob.
The last several times I have been out on the lake I have caught absolutely zilch. I find the shad but I'll be darned if I can find fish near them.
I live here in Justin so Ray Rob is the lake I fish. Hopefully one day I will figure it out.
