The other Covid thread got me thinking a little. Who is still afraid of it? As a nurse, we are still really stupid strict with Covid and the policies around it. Obviously the vaccine is not a vaccine and most everyone has already caught it and dealt with it. The stealth variant is obviously here because many patients are coming in, completely asymptomatic, and testing positive. They swear up and down our tests are wrong because their home test said they were negative but a true PCR test is the only test that is detecting the stealth variant. Either way, they have 0 symptoms and are completely fine from a Covid perspective.

Policy still states that no visitors are allowed for Covid patients unless the patient is on comfort care and passing. So that means you are stuck in a room all alone (except for hospital staff that comes in once every hour) with no family support to help you through why you are there. I feel for these patients and this stupidity but policies are policies. Is anyone really even concerned anymore about this? I definitely am not but wondering if any other are still?

Afraid is the wrong term. Having a couple of the preexisting conditions and age, I respect what it can do to my body if I get a case of it. I'm glad there are a couple therapeutics out there to help if I do get a case of it. I'm not often in situations where I can get exposed, so I don't think about it on most days. Our county stopped reporting data on cases and deaths earlier this year. I was kind of surprised when I looked it up just now that the county I live in, that only has about 100k people in it, had 9 deaths from Covid this past 28 days. Beats the 9-14 a week that we were seeing with the Delta Variant, but something for olds with conditions to be aware of.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

I haven’t ever been afraid yet this year.

I'm also in healthcare and have been around it since the beginning. At this point I think I'll just call myself bullet proof and go on with a normal life. And we haven't had a patient in the hospital FOR Covid in several months. Had a few come through with Covid. We changed our visitation policy to allow vaccinated family members to visit Covid positive patients. It was really sad when we had a bunch of sick and dying Covid patients and family wasn't allowed in the room. We put room numbers on the outside windows so family could at least see their loved ones, but it's not nearly the same.

Nearly 3 years after and it's not hard to see why the "covid pandemic" came to be, it wasn't the boogie man that came from under your bed.

Delta was real. This was the variant I caught and I caught it working a code on a younger person. Too sad and I personally couldn't wait to ensure I was fully gowned up and had proper PPE. So I ran in and initiated the code. It didn't take long before I was yanked out to put on proper PPE but seconds matter in code situations. I thought I was fine until day 7 after testing positive and I woke up with a 105 fever. That high of a temp is no joke. Never went to the hospital as my sats were good and I managed to maintain my fever with tylenol and ibuprofen but I understand your thinking completely. I am glad we are out of the Delta Variant and todays variants are pretty much just a common head cold.

Gosh this is sad to read. Having to see loved ones through a window. We were able to setup zoom calls with family members with Ipads but it was impossible to keep up with all the families wanting to see their loved ones constantly. It made for a lot of upset family members and frustrated patients. None of it was good. But still having to turn people away, its really starting to get under my skin in a major way. I'm about done with all the nonsense and really wondering when it will end and I can stop turning people away from their loved ones.

Define afraid? I was mindful of it when it was peaking. I didn't wear a mask unless it was someplace like Children's. There I obeyed their rules. Gas stations, all that stuff. I just went in, did what I had to do, and got out. Not really a change from normal. The wife was already using instacart. So that didn't change anything. Went to 2 different concerts in 2020 after it hit. The Steel Woods and Tennessee Jet on my birthday in August. They called it a social distancing event. You basically had to stay at your table. A few weeks later Dallas Moore and David Lee Murphy. There wasn't no social distancing going on at that one. Had a BBQ on Memorial Day weekend. I figured if we were all going to go. I wasn't going to live like a prisoner in the process. Still bot jabbed either. Fear is not something I compute very well. It's a downfall and strength all rolled into one. roflmao

NEVER AGAIN

does this society need to bow to an unelected medical bureaucrat, a bunch of filthy rich elites, a corrupt administration, or ANY other outside of the USA (WHO)

EVER.

There was no doubt serious threats to health but the world's reaction to this is sickening and the results of this non natural plandemic are what we are all dealing with now.

If you are a supporter of what is happening today in our government you better never need me to save you.

the "pandemic" was developed by those in "fear" of a world leader

Being afraid and respecting how serious a potential infection could be are 2 different things.

I got vaccinated and then live my life like I always have.

I do agree instead of calling it a vaccine we should simply call it a death prevention injection.
